Vacuum Casting

The vacuum casting is a prototype process for the production of plastic parts. To prepare the silicone forms of reproduction, the original models with liquid polyurethane casting resin poured. By this method, a flexible silicone form of reproduction is gained.

In a mixer, the final components are thoroughly mixed and then given as a reaction mass in the vacuum chamber in the silicone forms of reproduction. The curing takes place in the form itself and the vacuum is used to prevent the formation from air bubbles.

It is a very quick and inexpensive copying method for functional prototypes and is preferred for the production of moulded polyurethane for example the automotive industry.
